Greetings from Hong Kong!
I am writing to you while I am wired in bed trying to catch some rest, so this one will be quick.
For those of you that have been following along you know that one of my absolute favorite views in Hong Kong is from the Star Ferry. I’ve written a post about it before from the last time I was in Hong Kong, but the view from the ferry is so unbelievably beautiful that I must reiterate myself to those of you who are, or may be, ever planning to go to Hong Kong.
The Star Ferry was ranked in National Geographic’s Top 50 ‘Places Of a Lifetime’. The ferry is ALWAYS packed, but the view is worth the wait. On this engaging little ride, you’ll take in widescreen views of the Hong Kong island coastline from Quarry Bay to Western. If you aren’t scrunched for time, I suggest taking the ferry right before 8:00 p.m, because the ferry will often stop and let you take photos of the nightly Symphony of Lights show….which is unreal, and another must-see!
Yes, there are other faster and more efficient ways to cross the Victoria Harbour, but the view will create a VERY memorable experience in Hong Kong.
My last suggestion to you all is to ride the Star Ferry from Tsim Sha Tsui, because there is not much to see facing the Kowloon side if you begin the trip from Central or Wanchai.
